Smartphones: The Government of India is going to present the budget of 2024 on 1 February. The country’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget in the Parliament House, on which the citizens of the entire country are keeping an eye. Smartphone users are also keeping an eye on the budget. However, the government has given a special gift to smartphone users even before presenting the budget. Actually, the Indian government has reduced the import duty on items used in mobile phones.
The government gave a gift to the public
Announcing this, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has informed the public that the government has reduced the custom duty tax on many parts used in making mobile phones. Because of this, companies will incur less cost in making mobiles, and due to this the price of smartphones can also reduce. Its direct benefit will be to the end users i.e. the general public.

According to the notification issued by the Indian Finance Ministry, the custom duty on mobile phone parts has been reduced from 15 percent to 10 percent. Talking about it, Union IT & Electronics Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “This rationalization of custom duties brings much-needed certainty and clarity to the industry and customs processes. I am very happy with this step towards strengthening the mobile phone manufacturing ecosystem.” I thank the Honorable Prime Minister and Finance Minister for this.”
Now smartphones will be cheaper

Custom duty on some categories of mobile parts has been reduced from 15 percent to 10 percent, and custom tax on some mobile parts has been completely abolished.
